This past weekend the club went down to Shell Point to take part in the first keelboat race of ABYC's spring series, and boy was it fun! with winds in the 18-22 range, members got to experience harmony 22s in full force. A couple of members also took out the Holder 12s to a wet and bumpy sail. Burgers were had afterwards and all in all, it was an excellent way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Thanks to all who participated!
In other news, we will have yet another Sailing Clinic this friday at the REZ from noon until 4 PM. Saturday we will be heading down to Shell Point again for an ABYC dinghy race, and on sunday we might be sailing again (weather permitting). As always we will be meeting this Wednesday at 8 PM, this week we will be in Room 312 in the Union (third floor above the computer lab). See you all there!

Thanks to Alberto Olvio, Jonathan Rice, and Chris Mougey for heading down to Shell Point today to get some of the Holder's back on the water. This is an exciting opportunity for all members as ABYC has their next dinghy races coming up on March 31st and they would like to see a fleet of the Holder's out on the water alongside the Puffins. Also ABYC is having keelboat races this upcoming Saturday the 24th and they will be needing crew, this is an excellent opportunity to get out on the water and participate in some races. As for local events tomorrow we will be having a informational booth setup on Union Green from 11-4. Members please stop by and help out in between classes or when available, also if you want to learn more about the club come check it out!! Also our general meeting this week will be on the 2nd floor of the Union in the Micco Room, I hope to see you all there!!

With this being said there are going to be many sailing opportunites in the near future! The REZ is now open for full hours which is 2-7 through the week and 12-7 on the weekends, this gives us tons of time to get out on the water. To those of you that have been coming to the clinics this weekend we will be certifying those of you that have proven your skills! Also there will still be opportunites to get down to Shell Point to enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Be sure to attend the meeting tomorrow night at 8 PM in the Crenshaw Lanes lobby or right outside in the Union space permitting to find out more information about events happening the rest of the spring semester! See you guys there!
